Mastering Productivity with the Boox Go 10.3
Jan 04, 2025
In an increasingly digital world, finding the right tools to boost your productivity can be a game-changer. The Boox Go 10.3 is one of those tools, and when paired with the MorningCoach "Get It Done Now" planner, it becomes an even more powerful companion in your productivity arsenal.
Getting Started with Your Device
Before diving into the functionalities, it's critical to set up your Boox Go 10.3 correctly. First, visit MorningCoach.com to download the "Get It Done Now" planner. The planner is available in both color and grayscale, but for this particular device, I recommend using the grayscale version as it enhances the visual clarity, thanks to the device's 300 dpi resolution.
Uploading the Planner
Once you've downloaded the planner, upload it to your Boox Go 10.3. The navigation in this planner is exemplary. Across the top, you'll notice navigation links for various sections such as your reading list and annual calendar. On the left-hand side, there’s another navigation panel. The top of these pages also features bolded numbers for easy tracking, particularly useful for identifying the start of each week.
Using the Planner
The planner starts with a home page that serves as your landing zone for all planning activities. Here, you'll find sections for finances, decision-making, health, and more. For those of you needing a more structured guide, MorningCoach offers a coaching program, but the planner itself is self-explanatory for the most part.
Notes and Navigation
One of the standout features is the note-taking system. You can write a note and link it to specific pages in the back of the planner. For example, writing a note and assigning it number 33 will make it easy to find again by navigating to page 33.
The built-in table of contents helps you keep track of all your notes, a feature many planners miss out on.
The Daily Setup
One of the planner’s strongest features is its daily setup section. Each day, you can set a "day focus"—a primary task or habit you want to concentrate on for that day. This could be writing 500 words for your book or avoiding certain bad habits.
The idea of focusing on just one day at a time can make significant tasks feel more manageable. It's much easier to say, "I won't drink today," than to commit to never drinking again.
Sacred 6
A key concept in this planner is the “Sacred 6,” which I delve into in my book, "The Sacred 6." The premise is to minimize your projects to six key tasks to avoid overwhelm. This section also includes circles you can fill in to indicate the progress of each task, adding a layer of visual tracking.
Making a Schedule
After setting your day’s focus and your Sacred 6, the next step is to outline your schedule. The planner encourages you to listen to the MorningCoach cast to get in the right mindset before planning your day’s appointments.
Gratitude and Consistency
Next up are sections for A.M. Gratitude and consistency. Gratefulness can set a positive tone for your day. Consistency, on the other hand, tracks habits you want to build, like morning routines, fitness goals, or other long-term endeavors. The planner allows you to mark how many days in a row you’ve achieved each habit, reinforcing positive behavior through visual documentation.
Goals and Wins
Following that, you'll move on to setting goals—whether financial, personal, or professional. There's also a section for noting minor to-do items like picking up groceries. The planner includes a reading section for capturing key insights or books you aim to finish.
Daily wins are recorded separately, which is excellent for ongoing motivation. Reflecting on achievements, however small, provides a morale boost.
Health Tracker
Productivity isn't just about mental focus; it's also about physical well-being. This planner includes a health metrics tracker, including segments for sleep, heart rate variability (HRV), steps taken, and even your mood. These sections can be personalized according to what you find most useful. For instance, inputs for steps, weight, macros, and water intake make it easier for you to keep tabs on your fitness goals.
Copy and Paste Functionality
One of the few drawbacks I found with the Boox Go 10.3 is its slightly cumbersome copy and paste function. However, the planner provides workarounds to make it more manageable. You can lasso text you've written, copy it, and then paste it onto the next day’s page. This helps avoid recreating your goals and consistency items every single day.
Wrapping Up
The Boox Go 10.3 paired with the "Get It Done Now" planner offers an incredibly effective system for enhancing daily productivity. While it has a few minor issues like the copy and paste, the overall navigation and functional features are impressive. This planner has been the product of 20 years of refinement and development, leading to an extraordinarily well-thought-out system.
Remember, productivity isn’t about doing more but about doing what truly matters. With the Boox Go 10.3 and MorningCoach planner, you’re better equipped than ever to do just that. For additional support, remember that MorningCoach offers a coaching program and a vibrant community to help you stay the course.
Until the next chapter, remember—each day is a new opportunity to become the best version of yourself. Go do it to it!
